October 18, 2005: Robert Benoit, Head of the Wind Energy project, and Wei Yu, Physical Scientist, were presented with the 2005 R.J. Templin Award, given by the Canadian Wind Energy Association, for their outstanding contribution to the development of Canadian wind energy technology.

June 6, 2005: The Canadian Wind Energy Association launched a new website (http://www.smallwindenergy.ca) aimed at providing information and decision-making tools for Canadians interested in small wind turbines. Users can enter their postal code, and the calculator produces a cost estimate based on wind data from the Canadian Wind Energy Atlas. See press release.
